Greetings & blessings!

Barnabas Day is this Saturday, Oct 27. We'll meet @ St Paul's
at 9 am for coffee & donuts. We'll talk about what we're going to do, get
directions, trade cell phone numbers & pray before setting out. Elderhouse
Connections has 3 families who could use our help - these folks are either
elderly or disabled, and we'll be raking leaves, washing windows and/or
vacuuming. They may seem like small, mundane tasks - but they can be an
enormous blessing to folks who struggle with some of the bigger things.
Cleaning dirty windows can literally brighten someone's life. We'll be done
no later than 1 pm, and lunch is on me. Please let me know if you'll take
part, so we can have enough rakes, rags, bags & caffeine.

As usual we'll have our Worship Service @ 6 pm on Sunday. The
theme is "Dress code for the disciple." Pretty cool, eh? Just in time for
Hallow'een. Ephesians 6:10-18, Psalm 1, and Mark 6:6b-13. Instead of a
talk this week we'll carve pumpkins. I've got the little saws & scoops, and
will have some gourds for carving. Dinner is @ 7 pm, or whenever you want
to take a break from surgery.

Please remember the Peer Ministry Workshop Nov. 9-10 in Estes
Park, sponsored by the Diocese of Colorado. I'll be one of the presenters
for this program in Christian caring. Don't get hung up on the title - if
you've ever wanted to reach out to a friend or roommate, and felt unsure
about how to do it, this is a cool course. You'll get both skills and
Christian context for helping someone. Let me know ASAP - ECM can cover
your tuition if necessary. Check out

more.

And then, some hard news for me to share. I've resigned my
position with St Paul's & ECM effective December 1. I'm working hard to
make sure this campus ministry continues, so please add your prayers to mine
that this happens. We have a few more weeks before I leave, and I hope to
see you before then. I have truly enjoyed my time with you over the past
few months. God bless you always!

In Christ,

Rob+
