Blessings!

 

          Please save October 27 for "Barnabas Day."  Barnabas means "son of
encouragement" in Greek, which is why we gave our Community Ministry Day his
name.  Since that day is also "Make A Difference Day," we were able to
identify a great project!  From 8 am - 1 pm we will tutor folks who are
preparing for US citizenship, at Catholic Charities North (near Belgium
Brewing).  SAVE THE DATE for what should be a really cool day of service.

 

          I'll be up in Estes Park for the Province VI college student
gathering this weekend, along with Kacey McClain.  I understand there's
still one spot each for a male & a female -- let me know ASAP if you want me
to try to get you in.  Dinner's at 6 pm on Friday, & things end on Sunday @
11 am w/ a box lunch for the road.  Should be great weather -- meet other
Episcopal students, hear from national speakers, & have some hang-out time
in the mountains...

 

          I'll be back Saturday night (I've got this Sunday job...)  For our
regular Sunday @ 6 pm:  Holy Eucharist.  "God's Wisdom" - I Cor. 2:6-10a, Ps
49:1-11, Matt 13:31-33.  Afterwards I've been asked to speak about
sacraments & other churchy things.  Great time last week -- we covered the
Book of Common Prayer, Richard Hooker, and the Chicago-Lambeth Quadrilateral
of 1886-1888.  Seriously!  We have some real history buffs in our midst...
And a free dinner @ 7 pm.  Professors Robert and A-Young (retired) Woody are
preparing our repast.  Though I don't know what's on the menu, I do know
that A-Young makes great sushi.

 

          On Oct 28 we'll carve pumpkins after worship.  We've got the
knives, tiny saws & scoopers, PLUS some groovy designs to trace & cut.
