Blessings in Christ!
If you haven't done so already, allow me to add my voice to many
others and encourage you to VOTE! As a Christian you pray regularly for it
to be "on earth as it is in heaven." God can't do it alone - you've been
given grace, intelligence and a responsibility for this world we share.
We've got a major cool event coming up - I've attached a flyer
about our U2charist coming up in a couple weeks. 7 PM in the north ballroom
of the Lory Student Center on Thursday, Nov 16. We're cosponsoring with the
ONE Campaign of Ft Collins, and the entire offering will benefit Heifer
international (check http://www.heifer.org/). Please help spread the word
about this sing-along dance-along communion service, plan to come, and bring
a friend.
I've also attached a flyer about the Lutheran Campus Ministry
Funky Formal on Saturday Dec 2. Looks like a blast!
I hope you got Sarah's note earlier this week. It you'd like to
attend the Celebrate! gathering in New Orleans over New Year's, let me know.
I'll cover up to 3 conference fees - your only cost would be getting there &
back. Sarah's got one seat - so what are YOU doing after Christmas? Check
it out: http://www.cescm.org/Celebrate06/
Last Sunday's dinner was great - Karin made an outstanding white
chili, which we enjoyed after carving up some pumpkins. All 8 of us enjoyed
the food & the time together. I'll try to get pics up on the web site this
week - along with Sarah's homily from Oct 11. Every other Wednesday the 7
pm service is student-planned & -run. I think we'll have a band together
for next semester. Let me know if you'd like to be a part of this,
musically or otherwise.
Tomorrow our new Presiding Bishop, the Right Reverend Katharine
Jefferts Schori, will be invested at the national cathedral in Washington,
DC. She will be installed on Sunday morning. This is a truly historic
moment in the life of our Church and Communion - Bishop Jefferts Schori is
the first woman anywhere in the world to become a Primate in the Anglican
Communion, which has existed by God's grace for more than 450 years. I hope
you'll take a moment to stop and consider all that means for you and for us.
And a final reminder - I'm the Episcopal chaplain to CSU. I try
to be as available as possible to you, your friends and your colleagues.
Contact me here and I'll do all I can to be of assistance to you. Remember,
God has made you in the Divine image and loves you more than you know. Our
ministry is to remind each other of that love, now and always.
In Christ,
Rob+
