Hi there!
So the next semester has begun. I hope it is great in every way
for you! Welcome to Robert, Kent, Taryn, Craig & Lorell, who I met at
Centertainment! today @ LSC! Thanks to Sarah, Eric & Matt for minding the
table. Our "Narnia" posters have all found homes - but we still have a few
(well, several hundred, actually) stadium cups with the "Top 10 Reasons to
be an Episcopalian. If you know anyone who'd like one.
The leadership team will meet soon to schedule some activities
for the winter/spring term. I believe there's interest in continuing the
monthly dinner & program series, getting out to John Roberts' mountain cabin
for an afternoon, and going bowling again. Bible study @ Gwyneth's should
resume soon, I presume? And don't forget "God & Coffee," our monthly
on-campus morning caffeine break. Drop me a line w/ your idea, or reply to
all to access the listserv.
I also get interesting info from time to time, some of which
follows. Drop me a line if you want to know more. And I'm in the church
office Monday - Wednesday, so call Linda at St Paul's to make an appointment
- I'd love to talk with you! But now, some items on possibilities you might
not be aware of:

CHANGE the World
Oxfam America is currently accepting applications for the CHANGE Initiative,
their national student leadership program. CHANGE offers US college
students entering their sophomore or junior year the opportunity to become
effective social change agents. CHANGE Leaders are exposed to the
international development issues that inform Oxfam's work, and apply their
skills and insights to run Oxfam campaigns on their campuses and in their
communities. Applications are due on April 1st, 2006. Selected students
are required to participate in a week long training in Boston, July 22-28,
2006, which is organized and paid for by Oxfam America. Students must also
be willing to implement an Oxfam campaign on their campus and communicate
regularly with Oxfam staff about the work they are undertaking during the
2006-2007 academic year. We strongly encourage on line applications at:
http://www.oxfamamerica.org/change . If you have any questions please call
1-800-77-OXFAM ext. 464 or email CHANGE at oxfamamerica.org.
