Greetings & felicitations!

What a great day – ECM was out on the lawn east of LSC with all
Greeks, interest groups, other religious entities, plus the Society for
Creative Anachronism
Thanks to Mary Jean, Will, A-Young, Sarah, Kelley,
John – forgive me it I neglected you, and let me know (‘cause I didn’t get
there until nearly 1:30). Thanks to Laurie for the loan of the awning

Our table gave us the opportunity to give away some cool stuff &
meet some folks. Welcome Michael, Maggi, Jeremy, Betsey, Brea & Robyn! And
welcome to Rebecca, who came by St Paul’s on Sunday.

            Some folks to know:

Sarah Beetch is the “president” of ECM (for the purposes of being a
recognized campus group. We’re actually a lot less hierarchical
)

Kelley McIntyre is an “officer”, and

Eric Krasny is an “officer” as well.

Professor John Roberts is our group sponsor.

Sara Frazier is a member of St Paul’s who is on the campus ministry
committee, and so is

Brian Johnson

So be nice to them all!

I met w/ Sarah, Kelley & Sara tonight to map out a calendar. We
hope there is something for everyone, and that everyone will feel
comfortable inviting a friend into this Christian community.

Tuesday, Sept. 5: 7 PM - Taizé-style worship service at Blessed John
XXIII Roman Catholic Church on W. University. 2 brothers from the
ecumenical community in Taizé, France, will be on campus Oct. 13. Here’s an
opportunity for you to experience for 30 minutes the unique meditative music
and worship of that community. I’ll be leading the service.

Sunday, Sept. 10: 5 PM – Informal pizza gathering at St Paul’s. Meet
folks, learn more, hang out & relax. Things will go ‘til about 7.

Wednesday, Sept. 13: 9:15 AM – “God & Coffee” in the lobby of the library.
No agenda, just chill for an hour between classes w/ a priest & some other
students.

Sunday, Sept 17: 5 PM – meet at St Paul’s to carpool to the home of
Dave & Judy Matthews. Dave is the master cook who’ll guide each of us
through preparing our own Chinese feast. No later than 8 getting home.
Should be fun – Dave’s a crazyman

Wednesday, Sept. 27: 9:15 AM – “God & Coffee,” library lobby.

Saturday, Sept 30: 9 AM – “Got Episcopal?” An all-day Inquirers’
Class for anyone who wants to know more about the Episcopal Church, led by
moi. Lunch provided (if you register! 482-2668). Child care provided on
request. Goes ‘til 5 PM. And a ton of fun. This is an offering to the
parish, but you can come too if you’d like. This is a confirmation
preparation class, in case that’s important

Sunday, Oct 1: Noon – meet at St Paul’s to carpool up to the
mountains for the afternoon. John Roberts has a sweet cabin up on the way
to Estes. Great for walking, or just porch-sitting. Cookout, and back by
6.

Wednesday, Oct 4: 7 PM – A Blessing of the Animals, in observance of
the Feast of St Francis. Bring your animal companion
 or not. It’s great
either way!

Friday, Oct 6: Diocese of Colorado annual convention, in
Denver. Sarah & 1 other lucky contestant will lead evening devotions for
several hundred delegates. Are you game? About 5 PM. Probably some
interesting stuff going on, I may be able to get you a meal out of it. Or
just come to see what it’s all about, and help staff the campus ministries
booth. The people-watching is a hoot

Saturday, Oct 7: More convention. Kelley needs someone to help
her lead noon devotions.

Friday, Oct 13: Brothers John & Leandro from Taizé will be in
the North Ballroom of the Lory Center –

10 AM – "The Taizé Experience: Living a Parable of Community."
An informal time for student ministry leaders & the brothers

            2 PM – worship, music, meditation & bible study w/ John &
Leandro

            4:30 PM – worship, music, meditation & bible study w/ John &
Leandro – timed for high school groups to participate.

This will be an amazing experience; I
hope you can take part in this day!

Thursday, Nov 16 (tentative): 7 PM – “U2charist”, a worship service set to
the music of Bono & the boys from Ireland. Focused on the One Campaign, the
Millennium Development Goals, and making poverty history. See www.one.org
<http://www.one.org/> for more. Visit
http://reef.atmos.colostate.edu/rogers/u2/index.html to see the PowerPoint
from our July U2charist. Very cool! Thanks Matt!

Sundays at St Paul’s – Holy Eucharist Rite I @ 7:30 AM. Holy
Eucharist Rite II w/ music & child care @ 10 AM.

Tuesdays – Holy Eucharist @ 7 AM, followed by breakfast at the
Farmer’s Table (W Elizabeth & Taft Hill Rd)

Wednesdays – Holy Eucharist @ 7 PM. Currently a Healing
Service, we’ll try making this the student-led service beginning Oct 11.

Now you’re getting this because you’re on the listserv. You can communicate
with the entire group by hitting “Reply,” or addressing ecm at stpauls-fc.org.
It only works from the address at which you receive this. There are faculty
& staff on the list too. I’ve used the list before to say, “Anybody want to
see a movie tomorrow night?” So it has a lot of uses

A couple big hits from previous years that aren’t on the calendar yet:

Bowling! There’s just something about it. See the pix at
www.stpauls-fc.org/college_ministry.htm

Exam Week Open House. We open Bacon Hall & keep it 1) very
quiet, and 2) stocked w/ homemade snacks. A pretty good place to study.
And the chapel will be open for that extra assist. I hope we have wi-fi in
time for this semester’s finals

And you can call or email (or text 372-7515) me if I can be of
help to you. It should be a great year! But when it’s not, I’d like to
help. Even if it’s just to remind you that you’re made in God’s image and
that God loves you a bunch.

If I haven’t met you in person yet, let’s change that! I look
forward to seeing you soon,

Yours in Christ Jesus,

Rob+
