Welcome back!

I look forward to seeing you again soon. The Episcopal Campus
Ministries at CSU is getting ready for the start of classes next Monday.

Water & cookies on the way to class! Pastor Connie of the St
Thomas Lutheran Campus Ministry and I (and any who can come by to help) will
distribute bottled water & homemade cookies on the corner of W Elizabeth &
Shields to everyone passing by for those first classes.

Once again we’ll have a table at CENTERTAINMENT (Aug 30) and
again at Connect With Your Faith (Sept 6). Since the Plaza is all torn up I
believe we’ll be on a nearby lawn. Will you help staff the table? Please
give me a call. Even if you can’t help, drop by & say hi. Maybe we’ll have
some goodies. And we’ll absolutely have the yellow stadium cups with the
“Top 10 Reasons to be an Episcopalian” to give away. Come get ‘em while
they last

Our first supper event --> Dinner w/ Dave Matthews!
(Parishioner Dave Matthews, not the musician
) Diners will prepare their
own Chinese menu items in the Matthews’ kitchen under Dave’s direction.
Sound like fun? Call 482-2668 to reserve your spot for Sunday, Sept. 17.

Look ahead to Friday the 13th – October 13, that is. Brothers
John and Leandro from the ecumenical community in Taizé, France, will be on
campus. The afternoon worship, music, prayer and study will be open to all.
If you’d like to meet with the brothers and other student ministry leaders
in the morning, please talk with me soon. This will be a powerful day in
the north ballroom at Lory. I know some folks are already working to clear
their schedule for the day in order to be present. Visit www.taize.fr
<http://www.taize.fr/> to learn more about the order.

Our U2charist at St Paul’s this summer was way cool! With some
interest & help I’d like to hold one on campus

Our Diocese will be holding a Peer Ministry training workshop in
Estes Park Aug 25-26. This will be a focused program for developing your
natural gifts of ministry. Deadline is coming soon – please be in touch
with me ASAP with your interest!

This should be a dynamic year for ECM. I was on the Front Range
Community College campus this morning making some connections. We’ll be
doing some neat things with the Lutherans just around the corner on Shields.
Remember, Sunday services here at St Paul’s are at 7:30 AM and 10 AM. Every
3rd Saturday we have a 5 PM service that’s pretty experimental, something
different every time. On Sept 16 it will be a Taizé-style mass, utilizing
the beautiful music and the meditative atmosphere. Every Wednesday we hold
a 7 PM service. This might become a student service if there’s interest!
And every Tuesday we worship at 7 AM.

This Sunday High School student David Pastore and CSU senior
Matt Hogoboom will talk during the sermon time at both services about their
mission trips to Mexico and New Orleans this summer. The pictures and their
stories will convey the powerful message of seeing Christ in the needs of
the world and in the eyes of those in need of our help.

Finally, don’t forget the mega-yard sale here on Saturday, Sept
16. Good cheap stuff, and all proceeds go to outreach ministries. (Last
year every penny was sent for Katrina relief)

Again, welcome/welcome back! Thank God for safe summers, safe
travel, and for Christ’s presence wherever we go

In Jesus’ name,

Rob+
