Greetings!
I hope your Thanksgiving break was wonderful, whether you went home to enjoy
your family or you stayed in town and met new friends around the feasting
table. And my condolences if you were hindered in your travels by winter
weather - I trust you arrived safely and sanely.
Tonight at 7 PM the X Bishop of Colorado, the Rt Rev. Robert J. O'Neill will
be here at St Paul's to preach, celebrate the Eucharist, baptize grad
student David Keyser, confirm recent student Eric Krasny, and receive into
the Episcopal Church Jim Pisula, Mae Lee Heble and Richelle Siporia. Food
follows! (around 8:30). If you haven't met +Rob I encourage you to come on
out tonight - he preaches well & is quite personable. And your support for
those being presented is more important to them than perhaps you realize!
Now this Sunday night at 5:30 PM St Paul's is hosting dinner just for you.
Good ol' home cooking. Afterwards we'll make Christmas cookies - the whole
deal: roll out, bake, ice, sprinkle, and put the little cinnamon eyes &
nose on the gingerbread men. It'll be fun, you won't want to miss it!
We'll probably talk about what we'll do next semester, so bring any ideas.
Next Monday, Dec. 5, Neil Riley returns for PART II of his presentation on
the Inklings. "D'oh?" you say? The title is "A Lion, A Witch, and a
Wardrobe to Christian Virtue." With the help of his handy laptop Powerpoint
program and his exhaustive knowledge of all things Narnian, Neil will
illuminate CS Lewis and his writings for us all. His Tolkien presentation
earlier in Nov. was outstanding! Don't miss this one.
Tuesday morning is time for "God & Coffee" in the lobby of the library from
9:30 - 10:30 AM. I'll be over to kick back over a hot beverage & just visit
with whoever drops by. Come say hi.
Tuesday evening is Bible Study, 7 PM at Gwyneth Andrew's place, Ram's Pointe
#428. Call her if you get lost or need a ride. 481-6436 This'll be the
last meeting until January. Cool group, c'mon by.
Exam Week Open House from 7 - 11 PM, Sunday Dec 11 thru Wednesday Dec 14.
Just so you know you have an oasis for your studies. Friends are welcome,
and you can promise them: No Sermons. It's a sanctuary time & place.
Grace and peace be with you as the days grow short and the wind blows cold.
Jesus is a-comin', so everything's gonna be alright.
In Christ,
Rob+
