Howdy, pardner!
We had a great time LAST SUNDAY NIGHT at St Paul's -- home-cooked
dinner, as promised: enormous porkchops, a heap o' mac & cheese,
salad, and choice of pumpkin pie and cream puffs. And plenty of
leftovers! Pumpkin carving was very cool -- check our the church web
page (www.stpauls-fc.org[1]) to see the "CSU o' lantern", and follow
the link below it for more pics.
Neil Riley will bring his "HOBBITS, WIZARDS & THE CHRISTIAN
EXPERIENCE" presentation to campus on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 7 PM in the
North Ballroom of the Lory Center. He'll focus on the work of
Tolkien that night. On Monday, Dec. 5 at 7 PM, same place, he'll be
back to do C. S. Lewis just /days/ before the release of Disney's
_The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe_ motion picture. Flyers should
be out soon, please plan to attend & bring a friend to these
outstanding multimedia presentations. I've heard Neil speak before
-- he's great!
Gwyneth will begin hosting a TUESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY at her
place in Ram's Point. Drop her a line at
andrewsg at simla.colostate.edu[2] for more info. The theme is "Knowing
Jesus," and St Paul's will provide the Serendipity House study
booklets, complete w/ the bible readings. Begins next Tuesday, Nov
8, at 7 PM.
OUR NEXT EPISCOPAL CAMPUS MINISTRY GET-TOGETHER at St Paul's will
be on SUNDAY, DEC. 4, from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Expect another fabulous
home-cooked meal, after which we'll bake & decorate Christmas
cookies. You know, the gingerbread men w/ the buttons & eyes, the
trees w/ green icing & sprinkled ornaments, the wreaths with the
red-hot berries? Should be very... seasonal. And a blast.
And looking ahead to EXAM WEEK... (sorry!) -- St Paul's will hold
OPEN HOUSE for study & snacks from 7 - 11 PM on Nov. 11-14, Sunday
through Wednesday. This was a "must do again!" request from everyone
who made use of it last spring. A /quiet/, well-lit study space,
snacks & drinks (yes, including coffee, both caf & decaf), a hang-out
& visit space in a separate room, and of course the church will be
open for prayer.
I want to thank some of the folks who help to make ECM happen:
SARAH BEETCH is the president of ECM & lends a lot of energy to all
we do; JESS REHLING is our CSU staff sponsor & she gets things
/done/; and GWYNETH ANDREWS has pursued the Bible Study idea into
reality. THANKS, YOU ALL!
May God continue to bless you as the days grow colder. I'm always
delighted to see you at Sunday worship, as are the wonderful folks at
St Paul's. Call or email me if I might be of help to you, and I look
forward to seeing you soon.
In Christ's love,
/Rob+/
